Bucs Tie Legends

bucs gm 17The Buccaneers (6-15-1, 3-9) tied the Long Beach Legends 1-1 in a game called after 10 innings due to darkness on Tuesday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Micah Beyer was flawless, pitching six innings while allowing no hits and striking out three.

The Legends struck first in the seventh to grab a 1-0 lead.

The Bucs answered in the ninth with an RBI sacrifice fly by Nathaniel Acosta scoring Anthony Seminaris to knot it up at 1-1. Continue reading “Bucs Tie Legends”

Bucs Sink the Pirates

bucs gm 16The Buccaneers (6-15, 3-9) sunk the Pirates (17-5, 8-4) Monday afternoon with a  11-2 victory at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Bucs came out swinging in the first inning when they took a 1-0 lead. Miles Ryan scored on an error.

Pirates Sweep Doubleheader Down South

pirates gm 20The Pirates (17-4, 8-3) completed the sweep of Team San Diego (16-9, 6-5) with a 4-0 shutout victory Saturday afternoon at Morley Field in San Diego.

Michael Koval (1-0) was electric allowing no runs and striking out 10 in 5.1 innings.

Pirates Win Game 1 in SD

pirates gm 19The Pirates (16-4, 7-3) defeated Team San Diego (16-8, 6-4) 8-4 in Game 1 of the doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Morley Field in San Diego.

Inland Valley came out of the gate strong with two runs in the first inning when Jonny Reynoso belted a two-run double scoring Greg Espinosa and Andrew Alvarez.

Bucs Fall to Top Speed

bucs gm 15The Buccaneers (5-15, 2-9) suffered a 12-3 defeat at the hands of Top Speed (22-3) Sunday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Top Speed scored two in the first, but Inland Valley answered immediately with two in the bottom half of the inning.

Bucs Win Pitcher’s Duel to Sweep Rounders

bucs gm 14The Buccaneers (4-16, 2-9) enjoyed their best day of the season on Saturday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona sweeping the Lancaster Rounders (2-3-1) with a 1-0 victory.

Nathaniel Acosta (2-2) shut down Lancaster for 5.1 innings and Eric Trask slammed the door shut in 1.2 innings and notched the save.

Bucs Offense Explodes for 8 Runs

bucs gm 13The Buccaneers offense exploded for eight runs in an 8-4 victory over the Lancaster Rounders (2-2-1) on Saturday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Chris Sanchez (1-0) dazzled on the mound tossing 8.1 innings, while striking out 10 and only allowing one earned run.

Pirates Win; Tied for First in SCCBL

pirates gm 18Sitting just a half game back of Team San Diego and the Palm Springs Power, the Inland Valley Pirates knew they had a very important game against the Bucs Thursday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Pirates (15-4, 6-3) responded superbly defeating the Bucs (3-14, 2-9) 4-1.

Bucs Suffer Setback

bucs gm 12The Buccaneers (3-13, 2-8) suffered a 3-1 setback against the Lancaster Rounders Tuesday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Lancaster scored one in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 3-0 lead.
