Bucs Burn the Heat in Doubleheader Sweep

bucs gm 25The Buccaneers finished their season in style with a sweep of the High Desert Heat and finished in fourth place of the SCCBL.

Inland Valley (11-19-1, 5-11) triumphed 11-2 over High Desert (8-18, 4-10) on Saturday afternoon in Game 2 of the double dip at Victor Valley College.

The Bucs finished their final 15 games with a winning record of 8-6-1.

Bucs Force Heat to Walk the Plank

bucs gm 26The Buccaneers (10-19-1, 4-11) defeated the High Desert Heat (8-17, 4-11) 8-3 on Saturday afternoon at Victor Valley College in Game 1 of the doubleheader.

Bucs Win with Big 8th Inning

bucs gm 22The Buccaneers (8-19-1, 3-11) won with late inning heroics by Tanner Thibodeau on a game-wining two-run triple in the eighth.

Inland Valley defeated AOS Baseball 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Bucs Sink the Pirates

bucs gm 16The Buccaneers (6-15, 3-9) sunk the Pirates (17-5, 8-4) Monday afternoon with a  11-2 victory at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Bucs came out swinging in the first inning when they took a 1-0 lead. Miles Ryan scored on an error.

Bucs Offense Explodes for 8 Runs

bucs gm 13The Buccaneers offense exploded for eight runs in an 8-4 victory over the Lancaster Rounders (2-2-1) on Saturday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

Chris Sanchez (1-0) dazzled on the mound tossing 8.1 innings, while striking out 10 and only allowing one earned run.

Bucs Suffer Heartbreaking Loss in Palm Springs

bucs gm 9The Inland Valley Bucs (3-9, 2-5) suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 setback against the Palm Springs Power (13-1, 2-1) Tuesday night at Palm Springs Stadium.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Bucs fought back to take a 3-1 lead.

Bucs Suffer Devastating 3 Loss Day

bucs gm 11The Buccaneers (2-8, 2-4) suffered a devastating three-loss day on Saturday in San Diego.

Game 2

Bucs Lose Heartbreaker to Heat

Bucs Gm 5The Buccaneers (0-5, 0-1) lost 5-4 to the High Desert Heat (2-1, 1-0) Tuesday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Bucs started things off right in the second when Girardo Ramirez belted an RBI single into right field scoring Jack Spohn.

The Heat responded with five unearned runs in the top of the third to grab a 5-1 lead.

Pirates Defeat Bucs 8-3 in Game Two

pirates bucs gm 2In the second game, the Pirates pitching stifled the Bucs for the first seven innings, allowing no runs.

Michael Koval started things off with three innings and three strikeouts. Andrew Alvarez recorded the win, while striking out five in just two innings. Aaron Reynoso struck out two in two innings. SCCBL all-stars AJ David, Kyle Jackson, Christian Kelley and Taylor Valentine are all back to help the club improve upon last season’s 12-11-1 mark. valentine pitch copy

Taylor Valentine posted gaudy numbers, while dominating the competition in 2013. The Cal State San Bernardino senior-to-be earned Pitcher of the Year honors while finishing 5-0 with a 0.66 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 40.2 innings.
