The inland Valley Bucs take both games today of the double header. Wyatt Regis, starting pitcher for the Bucs went 3 innings strong as he only gave up 1 run in those innings. The hitting for the Bucs today came in the later half of the game as they had a total of 9 hits and 5 runs in this ball game.

The Bucs bullpen came out today in both games as they shut down the Dovetails in both games getting the doubleheader sweep today in the games.

The Bucs next game will be on Saturday as they take on the Cal Jays at 4 o’clock.

The Inland Valley Bucs take the first game from the Dovetail baseball club in today’s double header. It was a pitching matchup today as the Bucs bullpen and starters only gave up a total of 1 run in a total of 9 innings.

Adrian Guzman pitched a total of  4 innings and only gave up one run while striking out four. The Bucs bullpen came in to shut down the opposition as they could only get one run across against the Bucs bullpen.

The Bucs head to take on the Dovetail baseball club today for the second game of the doubleheader at 4 o’clock

SBL Pirates Fall to the SoCal Sparrows in Early Day Game

The Inland Valley Pirates add a fourth consecutive loss to their winning drought by dropping Thursday’s game to the SoCal Sparrows.

Trouble on the mound allowed the Sparrows to take advantage and put on a strong offensive performance,with the final score coming in at 13-5.

Inland Valley was not able to get on the board until the sixth when the team scored their first two runs. Despite their early struggles, some of the Pirates had solid performances in the’s game. Dennis Hildebrandt would finish three for four at bat and with three RBI’s, Jacob Taylor hit a home run in the seventh and Alberto Vargas, who came in as a pinch hitter, went two for two at bat, hitting single base hits both times.

The efforts by those Pirate’s, however, were not enough to putt off a comeback and the Sparrows took home the road win over their Sunset Baseball league opponent.

This leaves the Pirates with an overall record of 5-13.

Inland Valley will get another shot at the Sparrows this Saturday when they travel to Vanguard University to play SoCal at home at 10:30am.

 

 

Pirates Drop Final Game of Series to Bucs

Facing the Inland Valley Bucs for the fourth time in one week, the Inland Valley Pirates had a chance to come out with a sweep against a league rival and make a strong impression with playoffs right around the corner.

The Pirates, however, could not take advantage of the opportunity, dropping the final game of the series with a score of 11-2.

The home team struggled to find a rhythm of the mound, using five different pitchers over the course of the night. There was little help from the offensive end, as the Pirates finished with just five base hits. They would try to make the smallest of comebacks, scoring one run in the sixth and another in the seventh, but would ultimately fail to catch up.

The Bucs  made things much worse for their competitors, getting into their offensive groove earlier in the game and continuing their steady scoring throughout. They would finish the sixth inning up 10-1 and would score their final run of the night in the eighth.

Pirates will have a two-day break thanks to the Fourth of July holiday and will resume game play on Thursday, July 5th when they host the So Cal Bombers at 7:00pm at Amerige Park.

Pirates beat Bucs again Saturday afternoon 5-2

The Inland Valley Pirates got strong pitching to beat the Inland Valley Buccanners 5-2 . The win was the Pirates fifth in their last 6 games and have now improved to 8-5 and 10-8 overall. With the loss the Buccaneers fall to 6-9 in league and 9-10 overall

The Pirates had four pitchers combine to allow only 6 hits while striking 9. Starter Andre Henson allowed four hits and one earned run his four innings. Relievers Roberto Baldenebro, Kevin Kramer, and Travis Jackson would throw the remaining 5 innings while only allowing 2 more hits and one run.

After falling behind 0=1, the Pirates would take the lead on a 2-run double by DH Joey Riherd. After the Bucs tied the score in the top of the 5th, the Pirates would would get two runners on base against Bucs reliever Adrian Guzman. Chase Wehesner would then hit a ground rule double scoring 1 run to put the Pirates up 3-2. With the lead in place, the Pirates would tack on a run in the 7th and the 8th to make it 5-2.

Both teams play each other again on Monday night at 7 PM at Amerige Park.

League Duel and Hot Bats Result in a Pirates Win Over the Bucs

It was a conference battle for the Inland Valley Pirates and the Inland Valley Buccaneers Friday Night. Back and forth scoring lead the Pirates to a 9-8 win over their Inland Valley brothers.

A high energy and scoring momentum game for both teams today. The Bucs got on the board first with a lead off double from Christian Valdez (24), a RBI single from Christos Stefanos to bring home Valdez and a double from Brad Lewis (20) to bring in Stefanos. However, the Pirates responded by firing the canons in the third. A lead off single from Travis Aversa (2) created the momentum that the Pirates needed to catch up to the 3-0 lead the Bucs had. The next three batters would go on to follow Aversa’s lead and not only bring in Aversa but load the bases for Ryan Anderson’s grand slam. The Pirates would go on to have another big inning in the fourth scoring 4 more runs. The Bucs kept up with the Pirates by scoring 1 run in the third and fourth innings and 4 runs in the fifth, cutting the score deficit to just one run.

Today’s standout performance comes from Jake Anderson from the Pirates who had a 3 for 4 outing with 5 RBIs and a grand slam. Another spotlight of today’s matchup was bullpen. Both teams were able to silence each other and have quick innings from the sixth on. For the Bucs, Isaac Lopez (13) and Gerardo Ramirez (6) were able to shut down the Pirates and keep them from increasing their lead. For the Pirates, Jake Lachemann (9) and Trip Aversa (18) silenced the Bucs with 3 quick innings and 2 defensive errors.

It was quite the match up for both teams. The Pirates are now 7-5 in SCCBL play and the Bucs are now 6-8. The series between these two teams is now 1-1. The Bucs will have a chance at redemption tomorrow, June 30 at Citrus College at 3:30 pm.

Pirates Were Legen-wait for it-dary in Tonight’s Win Over Long Beach

The Inland Valley Pirates hand the Long Beach Legends their first conference loss of the season and split the series in a high energy, 3-1 win.

The Pirates got the momentum going in the third inning with a single from catcher, Alberto Vargas (34), a walk for Michael Moy (5), single for Tyler Van Marte (34), and a RBI, fielder’s choice play for Jaden Burns to bring in Vargas and give the Pirates the lead. The Pirates would go on to score one run in the fifth and one run in the eighth resulting in their 3-1 win over the Legends.
Today’s standout performance comes from the two-player pitching staff of today’s game. Starting pitcher Avery Rivera (3) pitched 6 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and no walks. Reliever, Matt  Sanchez (18) would continue to feed of off Rivera’s momentum and pitch 3 four-batter innings, allowing only one hit, which resulted in Long Beach’s one and only run of the night.
The Inland Valley Pirates are now 5-7 in Sunset League play and 5-9 overall. The Pirates hope to improve their league standings tomorrow, June 29th against the Signal Hill Oilers at Long Beach City College at 4:30 pm.

Socal Bombers vs Inland Valley Bucs

This was a pitching duel today between both teams. The Inland Valley Bucs starter Peter Eitapence had a 4 inning start not giving up a single run and only two hits. The Bucs would strike first as they get a total of four runs.
However, that lead would not last until the sixth inning where the bombers tied up the game scoring a total of 4 runs that inning.

This game would be tied up all the way up until the eighth inning where the Bombers would get a total of 4 runs to make it a 8 to 4 ball game.

The Inland Valley Bucs next game will be on Friday at Amerige Park as they take on the Inland Valley Pirates at 7 P.M.

SBL Pirates Drop Game One in Series with Legends

The Inland Valley Pirates drop game one in their series against the Long Beach Legends Tuesday night. After leading early in the game, the Pirates couldn’t control their ship and ended up losing 8-4.
The Pirates hit some rocky waters when the Legends hit a homerun off of starting pitcher, Pablo Valenzuela (2) in the first inning. Luckily, the Pirates were able to respond and take the lead in the bottom of the inning with a lead off base hit from Tyler Van Marte (34), a walk for Greg Lamb (3) and a double for Cody Marshall (11) to bring them both in. Designated hitter Dennis Hildebrandt (16), hit a deep single to bring in Marshall to make the score 3-1 in the first.
However, the Pirates just couldn’t contain the Legends’ bats. The score would tie-up at 4-4 in the fourth inning and the Legends would continue to stay hot and get four more runs. Despite all the hits, Pirates defense was not something to be upset about. Reliever, Nicholas Ramirez (10) got the defensive momentum going with 3 shut out innings in the fourth, fifth and sixth. Following his lead, the defense worked together to get throw outs and double plays to keep the innings short.
In Sunset League play, the Pirates are now 4-7 and 4-9 overall. The Pirates hope to split the series with the Legends on Thursday, June 28 at 7pm at Amerige Park in Fullerton.

The Inland Valley Pirates fall to the Inland Valley Bucs matchup today 5 to 7. Both teams came out swinging today as the both had a total of 21 hits combined in todays game.

The Bucs had a outstanding inning in the 4th as they put up a total of 6 runs. They batted through the lineup that inning.

Korey Brown had hit a 3 run home run in the 4th inning as he keeps proving that he is a deadly hitter when coming to the plate.

The next game for the Inland Valley Bucs will be Wednesday against the So Cal Bombers at citrus park at 4:30 P.M.
