Pirates Drop Final Game of Series to Bucs

Facing the Inland Valley Bucs for the fourth time in one week, the Inland Valley Pirates had a chance to come out with a sweep against a league rival and make a strong impression with playoffs right around the corner.

The Pirates, however, could not take advantage of the opportunity, dropping the final game of the series with a score of 11-2.

The home team struggled to find a rhythm of the mound, using five different pitchers over the course of the night. There was little help from the offensive end, as the Pirates finished with just five base hits. They would try to make the smallest of comebacks, scoring one run in the sixth and another in the seventh, but would ultimately fail to catch up.

The Bucs  made things much worse for their competitors, getting into their offensive groove earlier in the game and continuing their steady scoring throughout. They would finish the sixth inning up 10-1 and would score their final run of the night in the eighth.

Pirates will have a two-day break thanks to the Fourth of July holiday and will resume game play on Thursday, July 5th when they host the So Cal Bombers at 7:00pm at Amerige Park.
