OC Bucs Season Ends

The OC Bucs (14-14) saw their season come to the end at the hands of the So Cal White Sox by a 5-1 loss Wednesday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

David Johnson produced the lone RBI and OCCL all-star Jarrett Anton scored the only run that the OC Bucs scored.

OC Bucs Drop High-Scoring Affair

The OC Buccaneers (14-11) lost 10-9 to the LA White Sox Friday night at Whittier College.

Nicholas Michaels had three RBI.

Connor Shepherd and Jarrett Anton added two RBI apiece.

OC Bucs Sweep Doubleheader

The OC Bucs (10-8) swept the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at Tustin High.

The Bucs won game two 8-0 and plated 21 total runs during the doubleheader.

Connor Shepherd belted in three and scored once.

Sam Neely cracked in two RBI.

Bucs Rout Bulldogs in Game 1

The OC Bucs (9-8) defeated the Bulldogs 13-4 Saturday morning in game one of a doubleheader at Tustin High.

The Bucs got two RBI from Nolan Powers and Hayden Wright.

Aaron Torres, Jarrett Anton, Powers and Nick Cordoba all scored twice.

Sam Neely scored three times.

Art Corona only allowed two hits in five innings of work and notched the victory.

OC Bucs Display Offensive Fireworks

The OC Bucs (8-8) put on an awesome offensive display Friday afternoon at La Sierra as they defeated their divisional rival Inland Empire Senators 15-2.

Jarrett Anton went 4-for-4 including a home run. He finished with three runs scored and two RBI.

Austin McGilvra, Nicholas Michaels and Sam Neely each scored twice.

Neely, Nolan Powers and Hayden Wright contributed two RBI apiece.

Aaron Torres ripped in three RBI and scored once.

The pitching staff was exceptional allowing no earned runs. Tristian Cisneros, Logan Grigsby and Erik Gonzalez were the men who got it done on the mound.

OC Bucs Win in Final At-Bat

The OC Bucs (6-5) defeated the Long Beach Legends Red (5-6) in dramatic fashion with a three-run eighth Thursday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Bucs swept the season series against the Legends Red winning 8-7.

David Grubaugh knocked in two RBI.

Jarrett Anton and Nick Reeser scored two runs each.

Kohto Hasegawa was sensational, allowing no hits or walks in four innings, while striking out two.

The OC Bucs travel to Riverside City College on Friday at 4:30 p.m. to take on the Inland Empire Senators.

OC Bucs Win Third Straight

The OC Bucs (5-4) defeated the Victor Valley Mavericks (5-4-1) 11-3 on Saturday afternoon at Citrus College.

The win is the Bucs’ third straight and more importantly puts them in a tie for first place with the Mavericks in the Inland Division of the OCCL.

David Grubaugh starred in the game finishing 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and one run scored.

Anthony Moreno, Sam Neely and Aaron Torres scored twice.

Jarrett Anton, Alex Campos, Logan Grigsby and Nick Reeser scored once.

Anton added two RBI.

David Johnson, Neely and Reeser contributed one RBI apiece.

Kohto Hasegawa is credited with the win after entering in the fifth and hurling two innings.

OC Bucs Win First Game

The OC Bucs’ inaugural game in franchise history went back-and-forth for a while before turning into all smiles on Saturday afternoon at Edison High School as they defeated an OCCL rival, the So Cal Sharks 11-4.

The Bucs and  Sharks traded runs throughout the first five innings making it a tightly contested 3-3 ballgame heading to the bottom of the fifth.

The Bucs grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first when Aaron Torres was brought in by an RBI knock by Nick Reeser.

The Sharks responded in the bottom half of the inning to make it 1-1.

David Grubaugh belted an RBI scoring Anthony Moreno to make it 2-1 in the second, but the Sharks tied it up again, this time at 2 apiece.

In the fourth, Jarrett Anton scored, but the Sharks matched the Bucs once more in the top of the fifth to draw even at 3-3.

The Bucs’ bats came through in the fifth with three runs doubling up the score to 6-3. Alex Campos and Riley Manquen notched their first RBI of the season in the fifth.

Campos was just getting started. In the eighth inning, he blasted a three-run bomb to finish 2-3 with 4 RBI on the  day. Reeser finished with three RBI as well.

Nicholas Michaels notched the pitching win entering in the fifth, while allowing no earned runs.

The Bucs play another league foe tomorrow. They travel to Crean Lutheran to play the Waves.
