Fullerton, Calif.- The Inland Valley Pirates scored in seven of nine innings leading to a season-high 126 runs to cruise to a 26-5 win over SoCal Sparrows in the second game of the double header Thursday night at Amerige Park.
Along with a season-high 26 runs, the Pirates (6-5, 4-1) tied a season-high with 23 hits in game two of the series. Even with a commanding 12-1 lead the Pirates didn’t let up as they tacked on eight runs in the fifth inning taking command with a 19 run lead.
The Pirates scored early and often. Rafa Flores got the scoring going in the first inning for the Pirates with an RBI double through the left side to score Isiah Montoya and Dominic Campeau. The Next at-bat Joe Canepa singled to score Flores.
Justin Estrada had another strong start on the bump for the Pirates. With five innings of work allowing one earned run with four strikeouts. Amgel Ruiz Jr. pitched four innings with five K’s
The Pirates will be back in action Saturday against the Socal Sparrows. First pitch is scheduled at 3 pm. Pirates win 26-5.
