Fullerton, Calif.- The Pirates pitching staff shined once again as they held the Ventura County Pirates to just two runs.
Starting pitcher Henry Martinez knew he had his hands full when he first stepped on the mound. The last time these two faced off Ventura County got off to a hot start scoring ten runs total. Martinez looked unfazed, in five innings of work Martinez managed to hold VC to only one run while striking out three.
The Pirates bats also decided to join the party. Inland Valley added 10 hits total. Rafa Flores added two hits and two RBI’s. Three Pirates each had two hits (Jordan Acahy and Andrew Otterson)
The boys will be back in action Thursday against the Socal Sparrows. First pitch is scheduled at 3 pm. Pirates win 4-2.
