Pirates Complete Sweep of Bombers

The SCCBL Pirates were able to hold off the bad luck on this Friday the 13th.

In it’s final home game of the season, Inland Valley took the big win over the SoCal Bombers in a 12-4 routing.

The Pirate’s offense took off in the third, scoring four runs thanks to some solid hitting. Jake Anderson, Travis Aversa, Ryan McAnless and Ryan Pho all had singles in the inning to put Inland Valley on the board.

The Bombers struggled on the mound all game, which allowed the Pirates to maintain their lead, scoring an additional eight runs by the end of the eighth inning.

In the pitching game, both Kohto Hasegawa and Jake Lacheman shined for the Pirates, holding off all Bombers scoring in their four combined innings pitched.

SoCal would try to make it’s way back. The opposing team scored two runs in the fifth and continued to fight into the ninth where they put up another two runs, but just as they had in their previous three games against the Pirates this season, the Bombers came up short in their efforts.

Inland Valley will be back on the field this Sunday when they travel to Madison High School to face the San Diego Force for a double header at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
