The Inland Valley Bucs came from behind against the So Cal Bombers to get the walk-off win 6-5. Kory Brown, who is leading the league in batting average, got the game winning RBI on a sacrifice fly that would bring home Malcolm Smith from 3rd base. After the leadoff hitter in the 9th would be retired, Malcolm Smith would get a triple to set up the game winning sacrifice fly.
The Bucs bullpen came in clutch today as reliever Gerardo Ramirez would shutdown the Bombers in the final five innings. Ramirez would only allow two hits while striking out 4 to pick up the win. After falling behind early 5-0, the Bucs would tie the game in the 4th after batting around getting 4 hits including a homerun from DH Christos Stefanos. The Bucs almost took the lead in the 7th after a one out triple from Christian Valdez but they were unable to bring him in from third.
With the final game of the regular season on Friday against the Riverside Bulldogs at Santiago HS, the team that wins will get the final playoff spot and play against first place Palm Springs Power in the opening round starting on Tuesday.
