The Inland Valley Bucs were swept in a double header Mondy afternoon against the league leading Palm Springs Power. With the losses the Bucs are half game back of the final playoff spot at 7-11 in league and 13-12 overall.
In their first game, the Bucs would lose 8-2. Starter Brennan Piceno would hold the Power scoreless for the first 4 inning before they got on the scoreboard with 3 runs in the fifth. Those runs would all Power starter Jonathan Buckley would need. He threw a complete game while only giving up 2 runs in the 9th. The bright spot for the Bucs offense was Kory Brown as he went 2-4 with two doubles to improve his average to 0.422.
The Bucs hitting woes would continue in game 2 of the double header as the lost 8-1. Five Power pitchers would hold the Bucs offense to 3 hits. Christian Valdez would go 1-3 with the Bucs lone RBI in the 4th inning.
The Inland Valley Bucs next game will be Thursday here Amerige Park as they take on the So Cal Bombers at 3 o’clock.
