Bucs lose lead late and fall to Bombers 8-4

The Bucs suffered a disappointing 8-4 loss to the SoCal Bombers Thursday night at Cal Poly Pomona.

Inland Valley starter Sean Patton limited the high powered Bombers to just one run through the first six innings.

Heading into the bottom of the seventh the Bucs led 2-1. They added two more runs courtesy of Christian Lyman’s RBI double and Tommy Delgadillo’s RBI triple. It appeared they were well on their way to ending a three game losing streak.

But in the eighth SoCal’s offense finally came to life. It was a one run game with two outs when Brandon Cody delivered a two run infield single to make it 5-4 Bombers. Cody then scored from second base on a Logan Lannon wild pitch to make it a two run game.

The Bombers added a couple of more runs in the ninth to put it away.

The Bucs are now tied for fourth place with the Arroyo Seco Sentinels. They play each other the final two games of the season. Inland Valley must win one of them to make the playoffs.
