The Inland Valley Pirates got back to their winning ways on Monday night. The Pirates hammered the Orange County Surf 11-3 at Scolinos Field and have now won four out of their last five games.
Michael Gomez was outstanding in his first home start of the season. The right hander threw five scoreless innings, allowed four hits, and struck out six.
The Pirates offense continued to put big numbers.. They came in having scored 37 runs in their last four games. Inland Valley roughed up Orange County’s bullpen scoring all 11 runs against four different relievers.
Maryland bound Michael Piniero led way going 3-3 with 4RBI’s.
The Pirates are back at home on Tuesday hosting the Solana Beach Cardinals.
