Bucs Drop Opener To Jays 7 -3

The Inland Valley Bucs lost their season opener 7-3 to the California Jays on Thursday night. The Jays jumped on Inland Valley starter Hayden Pearce for three runs in the first inning and added another run in the third off reliever Jacob Castillo. Inland Valley cut the deficit to 4-3 in the seventh following the Jays fourth and fifth errors of the contest. But California put the game away scoring three runs in the eighth despite not getting a hit in the inning.

The Bucs offense managed nine hits including two from Brandon Alamo. The Jays Steven Mendoza got the win in relief and Pearce suffered the loss.

Inland Valley has an off day on Friday and resumes action with a doubleheader on Saturday
