Bucs Early-Season Woes Continue in Double Header

The Inland Valley Bucs early season woes continued as they dropped a doubleheader to the San Diego Waves on Tuesday. The Bucs lost game one 5-2 and then dropped the nightcap 3-0.  In the opener, San Diego jumped out to a 1-0 lead after two innings and then added three more in the third. The big blow in the inning was a two-out two-run single delivered by leadoff hitter Eli Wisdom off Bucs reliever Isaac Lopez. Inland Valley struggled offensively producing just six hits and hitting into four double plays.

The Bucs offensive slump carried over into game two. Inland Valley managed just one hit and were shutout for the first time this season. San Diego’s Jack Gonzalez got the win in relief while Bucs starter Logan Lannon took the loss.

Inland Valley is back in action on Wednesday. They open up league play with a home game against the defending Southern California Collegiate Baseball Champion San Diego Force.
