Pirates and Riptide call it Even

Fullerton, Calif.- The Inland Valley Pirates looked to bounce back after dropping the doubleheader to the San Diego Force. Prior to the start, the Riptide defeated the Inland valley Bucs by a plentiful margin. The Pirates looked too cool of the Riptide bats.

The Riptide got off to a hot start, scoring one run in the first and another in the second. It wasn’t until the third inning where the Pirates would breakthrough for two runs thanks to hits by Riley Kasper(single-run scored) and Andrew Schmit(double run scored). The Pirates would then take the lead by adding one in the fourth.

The bullpen was a shined once again for the Pirates. The four-man staff held the Riptide to one run and two hits through five innings of work.

The boys will be back in action tomorrow against the Signal Hill Oilers. First pitch is scheduled at 4 pm. Pirates tie 3-3.
