SCCBL Pirates Dominate Southern Nevada

Another win in the books for the SCCBL Pirates and this time it comes in dominating fashion with a 13-1 victory over non-conference opponent, Southern Nevada.

Three Pirate players hit home runs to highlight the stellar offensive performance. Ryan McAnless and Chase Wehesner hit back to back bombs in the third to add to the teams total five runs in that inning. Catcher Kyle Harper added a run of his own in the sixth inning to put the home team up by ten before heading into the seventh.

Pirates also found success in the pitching game. All three of the Inland Valley pitchers that saw playing time took care of business. Kohto Hasegawa added to his impressive start to the season, allowing just one run and striking out five opponents. Strong performances by Kevin Santana and Darrian Lopez kept Southern Nevada from scoring anymore runs and held the visiting team to just four hits on the night.

The Pirates return to Amerige Park tomorrow when they get back into league play and take on the So Cal Bombers at 7:00pm.
