After winning it’s home opener against the Signal Hill Oilers, the SBL Pirates fall to the same opponent 9-1 in the second game of this Sunday’s double header.
In a game that ended in seven innings, the Pirates saw six different pitchers take the mound as the Oilers put up big numbers on offense. Signal Hill put themselves ahead early, scoring five runs in the first two innings, and held on to that momentum throughout the game, adding an additional four runs in the fifth and sixth.
Meanwhile, Inland Valley struggled to connect with the ball, ending the night with just four total hits and just one run scored.
The Pirates look to get things back on track this Tuesday, June 12th when they travel to LA Valley College to take on the Ventura Country Pirates at 5:00pm.
