The Inland Valley Pirates (9-9-1) won their second in a row easily dispatching the Orange County Surf 14-6 Friday night at Cal Poly Pomona.
This one was over after the second inning. The Pirates offense exploded for 11 runs in the first two innings. Surf starting pitcher Jack Cornish failed to make it out of the second allowing a season-high 10 earned runs.
Brandon Bradshaw helped lead Inland Valley’s 16-hit barrage by going 2-2 with 3RBI.
Pirates right hander Hunter Cooper made his first start of the season and picked up the win. He went five innings, allowed two hits, and two earned runs.
The Pirates and Surf play again on Sunday. 1st pitch is scheduled for 6pm at Scolinos Field.
