The Inland Valley Bucs (8-11-1) lost 2-1 in 10 innings to the SoCal Bombers Wednesday night at Scolinos Field.
Gavin Velasquez made his first start of the season for the Bucs. The Cal State Fullerton right hander shutout the Bombers through the first six innings. SoCal finally broke through in the seventh when Joey Magro delivered a two-out bases loaded RBI single to put the Bombers up 1-0.
The lead didn’t last long as the Bucs tied it in the bottom of the eighth. Ramiro Velasco scored on a wild pitch from SoCal pitcher Dylan Simcik to tie the game.
Ryan Knowles led off the top of the 10th with a single. He reached second on a ground out. Inland Valley’s defensive miscues finally caught up with them. On a routine ground ball Logan Lannon couldn’t handle the throw from first baseman Jacob Doty allowing Knowles to score the winning run.
It was the fifth error of the game committed by Inland Valley.
The Bucs saw their three game winning streak come to an end.
