Three Pitchers Team Up as Inland Valley Bucs Shuts Out Dovetail Baseball in Game 1

The Inland Valley Bucs defeated Dovetail Baseball 8-0 on Monday in Game 1 of a doubleheader as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

An early lead helped propel Inland Valley Bucs to victory. Inland Valley Bucs scored on a groundout by Seamus Fallon in the first inning, a error in the second inning, a single by Rudy Casarez in the second inning, and a single by Malcom Smith in the second inning.

Inland Valley Bucs captured the lead in the first inning, as Fallon grounded out, scoring one run.

Inland Valley Bucs scored three runs in the third inning. They scored on a double by Patrick Vizcaino, a single by Johnny Juarez, and a single by Casarez.

Charlie Verrone earned the win for Inland Valley Bucs. He pitched three innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, and striking out three. Isaac Lopez threw the next three innings, as two relievers helped Inland Valley Bucs finish off the victory. Skyler Sylvester took the loss for Dovetail Baseball. He threw two and a third innings, allowing seven runs, eight hits, and striking out one.

Inland Valley Bucs collected 11 hits. Juarez, Casarez, Jacob Doty, and Smith each collected multiple hits for Inland Valley Bucs. Juarez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Inland Valley Bucs in hits.
