The Inland Valley Bucs won their second in a row after blanking the Solana Beach Cardinals 4-0 on Thursday night. Four Buc pitchers combined on the five hit shutout as the Cards failed to get a runner as far as third base.
Hayden Pearce was outstanding in relief for Inland Valley. He threw four scoreless innings, allowed just three hits, and struck out seven.
The Bucs jumped all over Cardinals starting pitcher George Chapman scoring four runs in the first four innings. Inland Valley led 1-0 when they tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Patrick Vizcaino and Aaron McCann each delivered RBI singles.
Inland Valley tallied once more in the fourth when Rudy Casarez delivered a sacrifice fly scoring Joey Riherd.
Hayden Pearce picked up his first win of the season while Solana Beach starting pitcher George Chapman took the loss.
