Andrew Alvarez was named the SCCBL Pitcher of the Month by the media late Wednesday night.
In 29.1 innings, Alvarez struck out 27 hitters, notched a 1.53 ERA and recorded a 0.99 WHIP. He also leads the SCCBL with a 4-0 record. Among other things, Alvarez has the distinction of earning the win in both of his starts against the Palm Springs Power, who have only lost four total games all season.
In addition to the outstanding pitching stats, Alvarez has also been on a tear at the dish hitting .431, while already belting the most hits (28) in Inland Valley history in just the first month of the season.
