The Pirates (13-4-1, 5-3) fell 3-1 to the Palm Springs Power (18-2, 4-2) in Game 2 of the double dip on Monday afternoon at Cal Poly Pomona.
The Power scored twice in the third to grab a 2-0 lead.
Inland Valley answered with one in the sixth inning to cut the deficit in half. AJ David tripled and Jorge Ortega knocked him in.
The Power responded with one in the seventh.
Jordan Scheftz pitched well for the Pirates, tossing 4.2 innings while only allowing one earned run.
