Bucs Win First Game

bucs gm 6The Buccaneers (1-5, 1-1) won their first game of the season 3-2 against the High Desert Heat on a game-winning RBI by Michael Smith Wednesday night at Cal Poly Pomona.

Nathaniel Acosta tossed five shutout innings and struck out six.

The Bucs grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run double by Charles Escobar. Anthony Rabito and Jack Spohn, both of whom singled, scored on the play.

The Heat answered with two in the third to knot it up at 2 apiece.

Michael Smith belted the game-winning RBI in the sixth scoring Richie Chavez.

The Bucs will travel to San Diego this weekend to take on Team San Diego for a four-game series.
