Charlie is the general manager and founder of the Inland Valley Baseball Association. He was formerly the manager of the Pirates for three seasons posting a .602 career winning percentage. He has seen many successful seasons at all ages of baseball.
His current focus is at the college level, where he teaches and builds his players into quality young men. He’s been exemplary in his efforts of promoting his players to reach their goals at the next level.
Kevin Bowler, Buccaneers Manager
Kevin has served as a coach molding the young talent in the Inland Valley for the past 25 years. This is his fourth season at the helm for the Bucs. He also currently coaches for Cal Poly Pomona.
Along the way, he’s made high school coaching stops at Mt. Sac, Ayala, Don Lugo and Diamond Bar. More than 50 of his former players have played at the collegiate level.
He’s been a mainstay in American Legion Baseball as well. As the Assistant Head Coach with the Chino Red program, Kevin contributed to more than a decade of success that included finishing as the Legion World Series Runner-up (1994), State Champions (1994, 2001) and making the state tournament six times in 13 seasons.
In 2006, he started his own program for Ayala where he continued to develop his players for the next five seasons. In 2012, he implemented the Diamond Bar Legion program.
Jenzen Torres, Pirates Manager
Jenzen Torres has coached as an assistant coach on the staff of Cal Poly Pomona for five years. He’s currently the top assistant and recruiting coordinator for the Broncos, who made the D2 Final 4 in 2015 and 2016. Torres comes back to Inland Valley for his second season in 2017.
As a player, Torres set the all-time record for Cal Poly Pomona with 34 home runs and was an All-West Region selection three times.
In addition to excelling on the field, he was a three-time Dean’s List honoree.
Torres played professional baseball with the Hawaii Stars of the North American Baseball League (NAL).
Director of Media, Dave Sobieraj
Dave served as the voice of the SCCBL for three seasons and is the Director of Media for the Inland Valley Baseball Association.
Dave is responsible for producing a pregame show, writing game recaps, live internet broadcasts, interviewing coaches and players and maintaining the website.
Dave produces features at NFL Network during the football season. He was involved in the weekly planning process of researching and pitching new stories, and also in the story development phase, including editing oversight, procurement of additional material as needed, and delivering the finished product to air.
